adramytiani lesvos

The Adramytian olive, also known as the Frankish olive, originates from Asia Minor and is named after the region of Adramyttium.

It is found in Lesvos, constituting 20% of the olive trees, primarily in the northern and northeastern parts of the island.

Its ripening period falls between November and December, and its oil content is estimated at 20-25%.

The oil it produces is particularly aromatic, with a smooth texture and a full flavour. The Adramytian olive is also excellent as a table olive and can be preserved in salt for 3-4 weeks.
